State Update

Section 8 2nd Place and State Qualifiers

The girls were off to State on Friday...Complete with a police escort out of town!

Sunshine and awesome weather for meet Saturday....


We had Alda along and picked up cousin Zoe to join the spectating for the day.
Ran into alot of our skiing friends that also do CC. Anne Hart ready for the day. (State Champ in CC skiing from 09 and Jo teammate with Summer)
Girls Team ranked 11th the week before.
Mass start and if you go out to fast you go under and pay dearly! You think the best would know that yet a few top ranked guys did it anyway. Connor Gjerve ranked 2nd did that one and cramped up sick down the finish chute coming in 57th (He was in the lead at mile 1)

Summer putting in a solid performance sitting at 75th and the 3rd PR girl. She of course would have like to be top 50 but that would be 30 seconds. Lydia ranked 11th ended up 20th and Victoria ranked top 20 was 40th.
Maddie McClellan Perham held her ranking at 1 nice win looking solid.
Annie Hart ranked up there was also with the leaders after 1 mile and sitting at 7 down the finish stretch but runners just turn it on and sprint the last 200 like it track! She finished 9th.

PR having a little depth hangs on to come home with 5th for team!
Very excited!

It was really fun to watch all the PR girls and ski friends from all over the state too. Another amazing sport that really carries a dose of pain! No records on the course even though the weather was awesome for it. Anne Hart mentioned 5 inches of rain this fall made for spongy slow conditions. Very warm conditions for all the thick blood the girls have built up too from the cold workout conditions the past month+!!??

Zoe and Emma enjoy a bread bowl of Wild Rice soup at the College Cafe.
The coffee and Caramel rolls were also delicious!


We ran into Anne Hart again Sunday at Gear West- getting fit for skis!!! Season starts today! Gear West was hopping and Brian and Jan looked tired after there Midwest Multisport Banquet Saturday night.
We dropped off skis for the stone grind and spent a wad on poles...And the Birkie video!
Very inspirational video I might add. In fact I think I'll sign up. Jack is already signed up so what the heck! It's the thought of all the training and then what the heck wave will I start out in? I have heard your first year is always interesting when your outside of wave 3....

CC Banquet Monday night and awards given out...Summer was team mountain climber(she can beat all the boys and girls on hill repeats) She also was named most likely to hold her nose when she laughs award.... She of course stood up front and could not stop reaching for her nose as everyone laughed at that.
